The plenary session of the VII Eastern Economic Forum
The plenary session of the VII Eastern Economic Forum, in addition to the President of Russia, was attended by representatives from Myanmar, Armenia, Mongolia and China. It became the key event of the forum. India, Malaysia and Vietnam also joined in with video greetings. In total, more than 7 thousand participants from 68 countries came to the Far East.
During the discussion, they talked about the role of the Far East on the way to a multipolar world, and also discussed projects and initiatives that are of great importance for strengthening Russia’s ties with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
“The Far East, along with the Arctic, are regions that, of course, are the future of Russia,” Vladimir Putin said.
“The Forum is of practical importance for enhancing international cooperation, maintaining stability and development of the Asia-Pacific region,” the Prime Minister of Vietnam stressed. “Russia remains an important partner in international investment cooperation. We will further strengthen comprehensive cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, finance, scientific technology, education and culture,” Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu added.
