Two Polar Oceans: an Online Lesson
Онлайн-урок, посвящённый океанам Арктики и Антарктиды
Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) together with SISTEMA Science and Production Association will hold an online lesson for schoolchildren devoted to the oceans of the Arctic and Antarctica. This is one of the events dedicated to ocean and climate science to coincide with the start of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).
Россотрудничество совместно с ООО «Научно-производственное объединение «СИСТЕМА» проведут онлайн-урок для школьников, посвящённый океанам Арктики и Антарктиды. Это один из форматов, который проводится в рамках серии мероприятий, посвященных наукам об океане и климате, приуроченных к началу объявленного ООН Десятилетия наук об океане (2021-2030 гг.).
The online lesson will take place on 26 August 2021. The main theme of the event is ‘Two Polar Oceans’, as it so happens that the Arctic and Antarctic are confused by many people, even as adults, which means that this unfortunate oversight must be addressed in childhood. A lesson open to the public will explore geography, the history of the discoverers of the poles and oceans, who explored them, how and why, what fauna is represented, what threatens the polar oceans and how climate change affects the world’s oceans in general.
Онлайн-урок пройдет 26 августа 2021 года. Главная тема мероприятия – «Два полярных океана», ведь так сложилось, что Арктику с Антарктикой путают многие люди даже во взрослом возрасте, а, значит, устранять этот досадный недочет надо с детства. На открытом для всех желающих уроке изучат географию, историю первооткрывателей полюсов и океанов, кто, как и почему их исследует, какой животный мир представлен, что угрожает полярным океанам и как изменение климата сказывается на мировом океане в целом.
The lesson consists of several modules: a dialogue between the online lecturer and the students, an interactive game, and videos. The timing of an online lesson is up to 40 minutes. Students and schoolchildren from Russian and foreign universities, scientists, organisations representing the field, interested parties, media representatives are welcome to attend.
Урок состоит из нескольких модулей: диалог онлайн-лектора с учениками, игровой интерактив, видеоматериалы. Хронометраж онлайн-урока составляет до 40 минут. Слушателями могут стать студенты и школьники российских и иностранных вузов, ученые, организации, представляющие данное направление, заинтересованные лица, представители СМИ.
Participation in the online lesson is free, with registration due by 23 August inclusive. You can register via the link or the form below.
The online lesson will take place on 26 August 2021 and will be broadcast online at www.univer.ist.su.
