The FSB of Russia has published declassified archival documents

The FSB of Russia has published declassified archival documents on the assistance of the People’s Commissariat for State Security (NKGB) in organizing the Slovak national uprising.

According to historians, 15 thousand partisans out of 60 thousand rebels fought the Nazis, 3 thousand of them were Soviet citizens. Most of them escaped from German captivity.

Together with the performance of combat and reconnaissance tasks in the rear of the German troops, the leadership of the task forces created partisan detachments, which included soldiers and officers of the Slovak army who rejected the Nazi ideology.
